Architecture
The 8 Layers of Gao Internet
Independent, modular layers with defined boundaries. No core layer holds user funds or identities; no layer can override user authorization. Sensitive actions pass through deterministic policy gates before they execute.
Gao Workspace
Operations layer
Operations, CRM, apps, billing, admin, and business workflows — the user control plane.
Gao Browser
Gateway layer
.gao resolution, verified apps, trust display, payment prompts, and AI action surfaces.
Gao SDK
Developer layer
APIs, capability tokens, examples, and tools for building Gao-native applications.
Gao Payment
Settlement layer
Non-custodial settlement, payment intents, receipts, refunds, and x402-compatible actions.
Gao Domains
Identity layer
Lifetime user-owned identity, resolver records, wallet mapping, service endpoints, and agent binding.
Gao Network
Transport layer
Messaging, routing, relay, VPN, transport, and notifications for private communication.
Gao DePIN
Infrastructure layer
Community-powered compute, storage, bandwidth, relay, and verification capacity.
Gao AI OS
Intelligence layer
Agent runtime, policy gates, memory scopes, tool permissions, approvals, and audit logs.
Architecture rule
One responsibility per layer.
Each layer has a clear, bounded role. No single layer controls user identity, custodies user funds, or overrides user authorization. The stack composes — apps and agents combine layers; layers do not combine apps.
