Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) — GAO Internet

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of GAO Internet websites, APIs/SDKs, gateway services, network services, and related infrastructure (the “Services”). Violations may result in suspension or termination.

1. Prohibited activities

You may not use the Services to:

A. Illegal or harmful conduct

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Facilitate fraud, scams, deceptive practices, or identity theft
  • Exploit or harm others, including minors

B. Security abuse and network attacks

  • Distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, phishing, or malicious code
  • Attempt unauthorized access, exploit vulnerabilities, or perform credential stuffing
  • Interfere with service integrity, routing, or security controls
  • Bypass rate limits, quotas, authentication, or access controls
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks (including amplification patterns)

C. Privacy violations

  • Collect, track, or profile individuals unlawfully or without required notice/consent
  • Intercept communications or exfiltrate personal data
  • Use the Services for cross-context behavioral advertising or invasive tracking mechanisms

D. Intellectual property and unlawful content

  • Host, distribute, or transmit content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Host, distribute, or transmit unlawful content or content you lack rights to use

E. Infrastructure integrity violations (node / DePIN-specific)

  • Falsify node capability, uptime, telemetry, or integrity measurements
  • Spoof proofs, manipulate scoring/measurement systems, or run cheat-modified node software
  • Interfere with workloads or traffic beyond what protocols require
  • Operate botnets or coordinated networks to abuse capacity or evade enforcement

F. High-risk regulated data (without written approval)

Do not process at scale, through the Services, regulated sensitive data requiring specialized compliance commitments (e.g., HIPAA/PHI, PCI card data, GLBA financial data) unless we have agreed in writing.

2. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take actions including:

  • Rate limiting, filtering, or blocking traffic
  • Suspending or terminating accounts, keys, or access
  • Quarantining/removing nodes or resources
  • Reporting to law enforcement where required by law

4. Changes

We may update this AUP. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
